- Mission
- To inspire hope and transform lives for those in the community affected by cancer through the power and healing of the performing arts
- Programs or services
- Cues For Cancer uses the performing arts to inspire hope, resilience, and healing for individuals and families affected by cancer. Our programming bridges the stage and the recovery room — meeting people in treatment, in recovery, and in caregiving with creative experiences that restore voice, connection, and joy. Every program is trauma-informed, community-centered, and designed to reach those too often left out of traditional support systems.
Therapeutic Performance Residencies
We bring artists and survivors together in guided creative residencies that use performance, storytelling, and theatrical expression as tools for processing, healing, and reclaiming identity after a cancer diagnosis.
Pediatric Outreach
Through handmade comfort items and creative engagement, we support pediatric patients and their families, softening the clinical environment with warmth and human connection. - Target Audience
- Cues For Cancer serves individuals and families whose lives have been touched by cancer, with a special commitment to communities too often left out of traditional support systems.
The performing arts community affected by cancer — actors, directors, choreographers, stagehands, ushers, students, and other theater professionals whose lives and livelihoods have been disrupted by a cancer diagnosis.
Children undergoing treatment — pediatric patients receiving chemotherapy, who we support through handmade comfort items and creative outreach that bring warmth to the treatment experience.
Survivors and individuals in active treatment — people navigating diagnosis, treatment, and recovery who find healing, voice, and connection through creative expression.
Caregivers and families — the loved ones walking alongside those in treatment, who need support and community of their own.
LGBTQIA+ individuals affected by cancer — a community that faces added barriers in healthcare and is often underserved by mainstream cancer support, and whom we intentionally center in our work - Geographic Focus
