We provide supportive, affordable and effective educational programs including but not limited to: Adult Basic Education, Job Training and Career Counseling, Education and Training for at-risk Youth, and Child Care Services.

- We provide supportive, affordable and effective educational programs including but not limited to: Adult Basic Education, ESOL instruction, Job Training and Career Counseling, Education and Training for at-risk Youth and Child Care services.
Second Start began in 1971 in the basement of the First Congregational Church with a budget of $5,000.
Presently we are located in two facilities; the former Garrison Elementary School which houses our adult literacy programs and First Start Children’s Center, and the former West Concord Fire Station which houses our Alternative High School and Drug and Alcohol Prevention program
All Adult Ed Programs are Free to students except for New Americans Driving School, which we offer a 50% scholarship.
Adolescent Program fees are from the sending schools.
The only fee for service program is the Daycare and we offer access to scholarships - Leadership
